A DOG DAY AFTERNOON

March 24, 2009

When I was poking around the fridge this afternoon, I noticed forgotten leftovers from Matt’s birthday dinner the other night;  filet mignon.  I knew neither Matt nor I would get around to eating the delicious leftovers before they went to waste, so I concocted a plan.  I cut the filet up in tiny pieces and put them in tin foil.  Then I went out into our neighborhood on a mission.  There are tons of people who walk their dogs up and down our block, and I knew I would be able to offer the filet to one of the dog owners (for their dog of course!)   Two minutes had barely passed, and a lady came walking down the block with her two small dogs.  I offered her the filet for her dogs (who’s names I found out where FiFi and Eliza.)  After she made sure I was not on a mission to “poison dogs,” she was ever so grateful, and let me know the filet mignon treat would really complete FiFi and Eliza’s perfect afternoon, which already consisted of playing at the dog park and then going for a quick walk in the neighborhood.  Glad my simple good deed could help keep the pups a-happy!
