A MILE HIGH THANK YOU!

February 10, 2009

There was something that I forgot to share with you all yesterday!  From February 9th (Monday) through February 15th (Sunday) is Random Acts Of Kindness Week!  Really!  I promise I’m not making that up!  Click here to read more about that! So now you have a “good” reason to something “good” this week!

Now on to the good deed for the day.  Today I had a very, very early flight from LA to NYC.  (I am working in NYC for the next 8 days, so yes, 365 is on a Goodness Road Trip!)  I flew Jet Blue, and had a great travel experience (I feel like that is completely rare these days!) I called Jet Blue yesterday, because I saw that my flight went down in price for what I originally paid, and I wanted to see if they would honor the lowest fare.  They did!  (I got a $30 credit for the next time I fly with them… pretty cool!)  Then the guy who checked me in at 5:45 this a.m. was so nice and friendly.  (Not sure if I would be so friendly working at the butt crack of dawn!) The inflight staff on board was above and beyond courteous and accommodating Not to mention the flight was one of the smoothest flights I have been on in a long time.

So, I decided to write a Thank You note to the pilots and flight attendents  I wanted to let them know how much I appreciated them all.  How I knew that to better serve me (and others on board) and to make sure that I got to my destination safely, they have very early mornings, have to sacrafice family and friends and their own personal lives to make the in flight experience a comfortable one for us on board.   I wanted to let them know that I was grateful for that.  Recently, the pilot of Flight 1549 from US Airways, Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger saved 155 people by guiding a crippled jetliner safely into the Hudson River.  He became an instant hero.  Miraculous as that was, I wanted the pilots and crew on my flight to know that they didn’t need an incident like that to be truly recognized and valued.

A "Mile High Thank You" to my flight attendents!
