THE TOOTHPASTE QUEST!
January 15, 2009
So, I was talking to my Mom the other day and she was telling me how her gym was collecting toothpaste for a shelter. I thought it odd that toothpaste was their only request, so I pursued a little further by calling the woman, Peggy, who was in charge of collecting. Apparently this shelter gets lots of donations of toothbrushes, but no toothpaste! Peggy then told me that she worked for Pacific Clinics that partnered with a shelter, called Union Station Homeless Service. Among other things, they specialize in providing mental health services for the homeless. So, I was on a quest. A toothpaste quest! I decided to “crash” a bunch of different dental offices to see if they could donate any toothpaste to our cause. Check out the video

This is so great! I love this video — so fun and charming and you make it look so easy to do your good deeds. Isn’t it amazing how much you can get when you just ASK??
In December I organized a chili supper to build morale for our town (we’ve had a very bad year here) and we fed more than 100 people and had prizes to give away all for FREE!! We didn’t have to spend any money on the event as it was all from volunteers and donated stuff.
People are awesome if you just show them the way.
