THE PUP THAT STOLE MY HEART!
January 7, 2009
Today I went to the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys. I had read on their website that they were in need of old blankets, towels, and newspapers (amongst other things). I did a quick check in the linen closet and found some blankets and towels that I could easily part with. I also grabbed a slew of newspapers (which we usually just throw into the recycling bin). I then did a quick knock on my neighbors doors to see if they had any items that the shelter was in need of (many of them did). I even inspired my Mom to meet me at the animal shelter with her items. I thought that was the good deed…donating easily attainable things that the shelter needed.
Then I fell in love.
I named him “Chester”, and more than anything I wanted to be his new Mommy. I knew realistically that I didn’t have the space that he would need to give him the full, happy doggie life he deserves, but I am now on a mission to find him a good, loving home. Check out the video:
As you can see there are so many animals at shelters that need loving homes. My heart aches when I think of those poor helpless animals. If you are thinking of getting a pet, please think of rescuing one from a shelter. They need your love. They’ve really got no one else.
To find out more about “Chester” and other animals at Los Angeles shelters go to:

You can find him at the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, CA

Since I named him “Chester” the shelter won’t know him by that name, but they will know him by his number : A1002518
Please spread the word and let’s find “Chester” (and the others) a good home. To adopt animals outside of the LA area, check out:

I cried so much watching Marley and Me, so I don’t have any tears left. Otherwise, this video would have had me balling. Keep up the wonderful work!
Great video!
I was hoping you might consider forwarding this video to a local news station. You could count it as one of your good deeds if they ran it on the TV news.
